Version 12 works with both .NET Framework and .NET Core, has much less dependencies and many other benifits over 10.0. SqlServer Layer is available in ThinkGeo.SqlServer in Version 12.
This layer takes advantage of the Microsoft SQL server spatial extension as of SQL server 2008 allowing you to store data natively as geometries.
